Got out for a few hours with the lady today and was not expecting this. She outfished me again, nailing this monster on a suspending jerkbait. Very strong fish with a great fight that she handled like a PRO. HUGE gill plate made for an easy grab landing. This thing was the fattest Pike I have ever handled, an absolutely beautiful specimen. No silly guestimates on size here, we laid her down on my jacket for a quick measurement. A very solid 38" on the tape, then back to the water. She kicked away like a madman, splashing me in the face in the process. Great start to the open water season, pretty sure the bar was just set by a GIRL :eek: :eek::eek: !!!

Beast of a NJ pike. The bigger plus is having a girl that isn't afraid to get dirty and go fishing! Keep it going skunk.

Wow, first off, congrats to you for putting her in a great place to catch this monster. She sounds like a trooper to handle that fish. . Just keep an eye out on her battle scars. I picked up a few nasty infections over the years from broken skin from a pike. Way to go !!!!

Awesome fish. I love seeing new anglers catch massive fish. From channel cats to pike, that's what sets the hook in the angler.

Just an AWESOME a catch all around. That Pike has a giant head, thick body, healthy colors. It's got potential to hit that 40+ mark. Amazing catch young lady! Beautiful Pike!!!:D

wow that's a real nj monster if you ask me, not too many get bigger than that here! if it wasn't for some of these pics you guys post i'd think every pike in that place maxes out at 33" (my personal best over and over again hahah)

i wouldn't hope they get that fish in a trap net...i asked them doing the gill netting once out on mc and they said 50% survival rate for fish trapped in the net...wow...wish there was a better way.

I'm still in awe of this whole situation. 1, that is an absolutely awesome fish and 2, anytime I brought a girl fishing, all I caught was a headache and pain on my backside! Lol, congrats
