Desperate to fish
 

I'm going fishing Sunday hell or high water. Figured Cod was the only thing besides Ling. So can you guys tell me what boats out of PP or Belmar that would give me the best opportunity to catch? I've fished pretty much my entire life but never for Cod. So I headed to the reel seat picked up the gear now I just need a boat to go on and help in learning how to do it. All info would be much appreciated. A couple guys say the J2 I ne er fished on it before. So a little help brothers.

as much as I also want to fish for something. I think im going to save the money and the time for those spring days that have to SOON get here.
Then get my fill wearing a t shirt instead of five layers of heavy clothes .

catch em up. now is a good time to fill the freezer with smoked ling also

Hey Joe,
My brother and I will be on the O.E in the stern. I will be looking for the Big Toggy, but my partner will prob be linging and tying for some cod. Looks like they have clams for bait, so I would bring shrimp to. Might be hard to get crabs, Fishermans den is not answering the phone but they may still have crabs. Tough for the guys to get out when everything is frozen.

Russian Roulette is going out Sunday and Monday. That boat moves fast to the cod grounds.

We going to cod trips next saturday 3/7 and sunday 3/8 also haven't posted yet, but looks like gonna be in the 40s so give us a call.

You're right, but in the teens maybe at 0 dark thirty.
I can't decide yet though, cause I'm still popping 500mg tylenols a couple times daily cause of all this darn snow.
I hope to have my back ready any day now. Probably a last minute call for me.

I was thinking about going on Sunday. How much lead is needed to hold bottom on these trips. I never tried cod fishing so I'm kinda clueless as to depth and bottom type being fished.

On the bright side I have only seen Shrimpy shut down the Tog bite. He did good on the Bass and Fluke so maybe just maybe Cod is equally exempt :confused:

Joey if you can not get out on boat out of Jersey you can head north on boats o out of NY Long ride but might be worth it. Very good cod bite as high hook had 20. If you need some cod gear I can hook you up
