Buck tail storage idea
 

What do you guys use to store your buck tails? I currently have been using the clear plastic boxes which are great to bring on the boat but I have been painting and tying my own buck tails for about 5 years now and have entirely to many to store in these boxes! I have used regular boxes and coffe cans but don't like them sitting on top of each other! Any suggestions? I have thought about doubling the amount of trips I go on to lose more but the wife won't have that!!!! :mad:

They make boxes for spinnerbaits for bass fishing.These would probably work for jigs as well.

I have a thin piece of braided wire from the home depot strung up tight with eye bolts under a shelf.
Tie em and hang em. Use em wash em and hang em up to dry.

I use those roll-up style jig bags ... sometimes used for plastic offshore trolling lures.. whether its jigs or bucktails you can slide them in there side by side, 3 or 4 per slot, then roll the whole thing up and tie it/velcro it nice and tight. they won't clang around against each other like they will in a tackle box. and you can stash the roll in your boat bag just like it was a rolled up towel. you can store 20-30 of them this way.

i keep mine in those snack size zip lock bags, they take up less space that way, when im done usin them i hang them from a sinker bucket i keep in the boat to dry

I like this idea a lot :) a new plan for me plus very easy to wash :D

I use Black Bart lure bags. Durable, hold a ton of bucktails and they dry out well after every trip!

I dont like the jigs banging into each other, too much time invested in tying to have the hair messed up when going to fish.
I roll each bucktail in a small zip lock snack bag.
then put a small piece of painters tape to hold it rolled , on which I use a marker to write the weight on it.
Then stack them into plastic plano boxes.
I carry a tackle bag that holds 4 of those boxes. and refill it as necssary.
It keeps them dry, and in perfect condition until fished

I use the same bag as Richie. Works great and self draining when they're used in the kayak.

I take a plano type box that has no dividers then I take 1" foam cut it to fit then put my bucktails in side by side sticking them into the foam. They don't move around and you can put alot in there. Cut the foam a hair bigger then it will fit snugly.I even dropped a open box on the floor taking a pic of it and all the jigs stayed put and didn't scatter on the floor.

Being a maker as well, the tackle bags do work well. Easy to carry and roll up when done. While on the boat, I have seen swimming noodles used to "stack up" the jigs to be used. They stay put in the material and easy to rinse down while washing the boat.

Awsome idea I love it! Thanks everyone that have ideas not bad one here! Might pick up one of the bags tropics has ( thanks for the link) for going on the boat! Love this site
