I will make it short and hope the boys from the trip will give more details, because I am tired and can't really think of much to say, but it was good fishing today with fish up to 33lbs and a bunch over 20lbs couple ling in the mix we had 3 personal bests today

New boat and new captain to me. First time fishing was a charm.
Capt. Denis was great positioning the boat around each wreck. If you're not on the wreck, you don't catch fish. He made lots of little moves to keep us on each wreck we fished. This was the best cod trip for size and amount I've been on in twenty years. And it was in NEW JERSEY! I can only remember one trip out of many to Mass. that was equal. Driving twelve hours round trip by vehicle and another six or more by boat gets old when you can't put a decent catch together.
The bigger cod had small ling and seabass in their stomachs. Mate Andrew shucked fresh clams all day long and helped with many tangles. Kudos to him for a job well done. So happy my friend, Pat, (also on this board) and myself took a chance fishing a new boat.

Well, in over 40 years of fishing this was my first cod trip and I have to say Cuz picked a winner!! First time on the Russian Roulette and I found the boat to be clean and well maintained. It was also fast, stable and comfortable. The crew was excellent! Denis was professional and personable. He put us on the fish all day and burned the fuel to put us on even better spots. Plenty of fresh bait all day and Andrew shucked his butt off. Denis is a hands on captain who spent plenty of time netting fish and hand tying killer rigs. It is not often I go fishing and feel like the novice, but the rest of the guys were top cod fisherman. Thanks fellas for a great day on the water!!!

Wait till you eat them. I had a big fat fillet tonight for dinner and it was outstanding!

OK, I'm jealous.:( I just got back from one of those Mass trips that was very disappointing to say the least, only as far as the fishing went. Everything else was great but when you drive 800 miles round trip, you need meat.;)
