Anybody out on the ice today? If you were, Where and how thick was it?
Was thinking of heading out sunday if so.
Big Cold front coming so that should help for next week!
Wanted to know if thereis any safe stuff still fishable.

GWL is thin and not safe. Definitely not worth the drive.

Fished hopatcong today for a short window figured i was half wsy there why not check it out had about 4 inches not safe enough for my likings didnt venture around to much will be better this weekend im pumped!

I stopped by Little Swartz last Sunday and the ice looked pretty good - was just checking it out with the wife so didn't drill any holes but looked better than I expected. Big Swartz looked real good too. Both should be great by now.

It was funny though that Paulinskill Lake which is only a about a mile away was almost totally open that day. Speaking of which, anybody ever try that place?

Good to hear UglyStick. Always drive passed Paulinskill on my way to Swartswood but never fished it. From what I've heard, its fairly shallow and nothing special. Usual NNJ species (LMB, Pickerel, Panfish).

Just jigged for 30-45 mins at barnes bro where the meet and greet is at this wknd ice is easy 7 inches thank god for gas powered augers!

Fished behind Laura's on 6 checked out state park nobody on it so didn't venture alone Oxford had 5 close to shore with some sketchy looking patches in the back left after i hit myself in the face with a 3o lb spud stupid move! Budd had a patch open by the rd but overall a few days and itl be sweet! Only fished about a hr behind Lauras and it was freaking windy nailed 2 perch and missed a few will be at it until at least wensday!

Saw a few guys on Hopatcong by Dows and a bunch more pretty far out in the main lake. When I was in Dows, there was an old timer who just came off the ice and was bitchin' that he caught crappy after crappy after crappy and was pissed off about it (he wanted perch) - it was pretty funny...

Took a ride up to Lake Hopatong yesterday and ice looks great. Group of guys out on main lake made first tracks.
