PSA: jetskiers on the Passaic last night...

Whomever you are, next time I hope you hit a log hidden just below the surface. You'll go flying and smack your head against the concrete bridge abutment. Whatever occurs as a result of that impact would be deserved and fitting punishment for your stupid, careless and selfish behavior.

Thank you.

This has been a public service announcment from buzz.

lol - what happened?

I haven't had too many problems with jet skiers on that river.
The majority of them slow down when they see my kayak. I suppose they don't want to crash into me any more than I want to be crashed into.

It amazes me how those guys have the 'nads to fly through areas I KNOW are a foot deep. They'll get theirs eventually...

Is it having balls or lacking brains that's really at work here?

Long story short, they passed by several times sending waves crashing to shore and basically ruining the evening for fishing. 7 fish(bass/pike) before/none after. This was in a section I can walk across its so low right now. I tell you some members of our human race really do embarrass us with their stupidity, selfishness, laziness and rudeness. Just don't get it. Being reckless is one thing, but doing it and affecting others is intolerable. I guess being a dick is in these days.

6 oz diamond jigs with treble hooks should be the lure of choice for fishing the Passaic River.

I believe I seen the very 2 jet skiers the one day I checked out the river around 2 bridges. I was pretty surprised to see them fly through like they did that day. I have a bit of a short temper, had I been fishing that day and they made a second pass like the first, my lure would have intercepted their paths. I have no tolerance for asshats.

Give it to em back and knock em the f*ck out if you ever see where they are parked........that'll teach em good.....I like the tie a rope across the river too but that could cause major problems...lol

i don't own a jet ski, but these comments don't really make sense to me. jet skis are legal to run in a river.

sure, the guy's an ass if he deliberately makes multiples passes right in front of you, but if they're just passing through... suck it up.

it's no different from water skiiers on lake hopatcong, cigarette boats on raritan bay, or pleasure kayaks on splitrock res... all just part of the game of fishing.

I think the difference is that these douches seem to enjoy "waking" kayakers and other small boats. There's bad boater etiquette and then there's just plain being an ass; these guys seem to have both those checked off the list.

yeah, that's just being an *******. they probably act like that even when they aren't on jet skis. so definitely the problem is the person operating it, not the ski. unfortunately being an ******* isn't illegal...

I had issue with a jet skier on lake Hopatcong a few years back while I was behind a boat wakeboarding. He was jumping the wake 20' behind me wakeboarding, if I had fallen there's a good chance he'd have run me over. I've not been a fan of jet skiers since. Of course they're not all like that, but a lot of them can be reckless.

I seriously considered that. I'd gladly pay one of you kayak guys to string one across with a sign that says "DUCK!"

I have the same issues with ATVers who rip up some really nice areas that people like to visit such as parks, forests and state game lands. Talk about douches. The funny part is the state asks people who live adjacent to such lands to report ATV activity. HELLO its their kids and friends who are probably the ones doing it!

IDK, behaving in a way you know is wrong seems so easy to avoid yet I see it almost daily whether its drivers talking on cell phones or people throwing cigarette butts on the ground or not holding a door open for someone behind you. . Its laziness plain and simple.

just to clear things up,I do not condone violence as a solution and that can only lead to alot worse things......I was just kidding(well, sort of)..I understand your frustration completely though.......

Believe me the things I think about doing and don't have spared me criminal charges. And that just relates to fishing. As of now the worst i can do is spit on your car. So if you see a big goober on your windshield, it means you f*cked up my day of fishing :p
