First Ice, and a nice pike to start
I found 2" inches of ice today not too far from Jersey and decided to try it for a few hours this afternoon. Around 2:20 I got my first flag of the year and it ended up being a fat 36" pike. It took a big sardine and it was ripping line so fast the tipup was shaking and the spool was spitting water out of the hole. What a rush! Jersey ice won't be too far behind. I bet there will be a few places ready for the new year.

Re: First Ice, and a nice pike to start
I'll be out there when it freezes. Hopefully the cops won't try to kick me off this year, although they won't see me out there if I'm sitting at the bar :D
