carp limit pics
Caught my limit of 25 carp in 3 hours yesterday evening with my homemade corn meal bait in Central NJ. My pics were too big to attach so I'll try links. http://s865.photobucket.com/albums/a...rent=nj1-3.jpg http://s865.photobucket.com/albums/a...rent=nj2-2.jpg

Re: carp limit pics
I'd also like to know what you did with the 25 baby carp.

Re: carp limit pics
I use bigger fish for bait:eek:

Re: carp limit pics
Really can't say anything. If no laws were broken and the fish are not wasted then so be it. Maybe a pic of a big fish fry will come up next, who knows. What may be small to some may be big to others.
And Wilson...........pleeeeeeeeeze ! |

Re: carp limit pics
I gave them to Dunkin' Donuts and got 14 free donuts so far. They taste like tilapia. Since they are a non native invasive species that Fish and Game Departments discarded in the past, I keep everyone that I catch and give them away. Poor people really appreciate free fish.

Re: carp limit pics
leifs right! eat em up yourself i wish my dunkin took fish for coffee that be great

Re: carp limit pics
Common carp are not an invasive species, but they are non native just like Largemouth Bass, Pike, Muskie and most of the trout in the state.

Largemouth Bass are native fish. It was the Smallmouth Bass whose range was extended into New Jersey. |
Re: carp limit pics
Smaller carp taste better . Not as muddy .

Re: carp limit pics
Quite honestly I have never tasted carp and not sure I want to:eek:
Heard they are very bony, but always considered carp a "trash"fish, don't know and don't want to know. Have seen them all the time in the Asian markets...guess there is a market I used to bow fish the larger ones in TN back in the day and give them to an old guy that would clean and eat them. He loved them...I loved catching them. |

http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/chkfish.htm common carp are not listed as invasive- http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/aquatic_invasives.htm |
Re: carp limit pics
I hear they destroy vegetation and other fish species in the river. As the years have rolled on there aren't anymore bass in any of my old fishing spots. Just huge loafs swimmin around everywhere. I say get rid of em all!

For some reason carp aren't respected in the US as a sport fish like they are in other countries and people blame them for problems they have nothing to do with. If you don't like carp please keep an open mind and do some research on the species. Better yet, go out and catch one...you might change your mind about them. |

Nice haul! Glad to see they went to someone who can use them too, nothing wrong with the barter system. |
