Sorry to hear. Marty was not only a good fisherman, he was a good family man, a hard worker and stayed involved with fisheries industry, not to just help himself, but had a sincere concern for the fishing community.

He will be missed. Prayers going out to his family and friends.

I fished with Capt Marty Haines for many years till he sold the Sea Pigeon, he was a great Capt who always gave you a good day of fishing. My condolences to his wife and son. RIP Marty.

Grew up fishing with Capt Marty and the Sea Pigeon crew all thru the 80’s, learned to be a proficient bait dragger from Capt Dan.
Those days can never be repeated and I cherish those memories.
RIP Capt Marty, you were such a class act!

I fished with both him and his father. I recall hailing him on 16 to wish him well with his new Sea Pigeon, circa 1984.

:( So sorry to learn of this. The Sea Pigeon was the baby-sitter for me growing up. I fished with Marty on the Stevenson built Sea Pigeon for several years as my Dad would drop me off before he headed to work. Rest in Peace Capt Marty........
