Ice Meet-N-Greet, RVTA contest, swimming side. 2/12/22
 

Ok guys! We have an NJFishing.com Ice party set up for Saturday, February 12th at Round Valley, “THE SWIMMING SIDE!” On top of a Meet-N-Greet the RVTA and The Sporting Life are having a contest from 6 AM - 4 PM on this day. Should be a good time for us HARDWATER diehards. This has been in the works for a minute and is coming together quite nicely. The swimming side of RV has some slob Bass, Pickerel and Panfish! Catfish roam the waters as well. You can sign up the day of the contest or sign up at the link I’m going to provide. Hoping to get a good turnout of ice anglers and kids for this one. Who’s In????:D

Being a non ice fisherperson, and a non supporter of rvta, i really like the quick release holes @ weigh station...i hope this event turns out to be a huge success for all involved!!!

website says park gates open from 8-4 daily - do you have to access from boat launch to start at 6?

We’re accessing the lake from the rock wall that separates the 2 bodies of water. Easy peasy. :D

Possibly stupid question but i want to bring my kids who will only last 4 hours do you have to be there to claim your prize? I plan on getting there and catching the winning fish right away.

Lol! Phil, you don’t have to present to claim your first place prize. The RVTA can hold onto it for you until your available to pick it up. I will congratulate you now buddy! Let’s get em’! :D

Never take anyone's word that ice is safe; you have to check and make your own choice. No such thing as safe ice.
Don't get me wrong, I love ice fishing, just respect the ice. Personally, I am happy to fish on 4" and bring my kids out on 6"; others may make other choices.

Someone running the contest is going to have to check the ice. I’ll contact some people and try to find out what kinda shape it’s in.

Ok guys Mikey and I checked the ice today. We have a solid 7 inches of ice for the party next Saturday. Few guys were all over the lake today which is great to see. We’ll be out there bright and early for the contest. Hope to see you out there. Don’t forget to stop at The Sporting Life for all your bait and gear. :D

Contest at Round Valley swimming side cancelled!!! The sun and warmer temps have done damage to the edges already so it’s not worth the risk. Looking for a safe venue in NNJ to hold a Meet-N-Greet. :D
