Surf fishing

The water was stained but it wasn't too bad this morning. I fished 3 to 8 and didn't get anything. I was throwing a plug and teaser in the dark and tried alot of different lures after sunrise. I tried again this evening into the night but it was more of the same, alot of casting and no catching. I wasn't expecting much this weekend with the full moon and the storm offshore but the water cleaned up pretty quick and I saw bait in the wash. The water temp was 64 degrees and I heard of some fish caught here and there but not much. I think there should be some False Albacore running the surf if it ever settles down.

I gave it try Fiday night and Saturday. On Friday I fished Monmouth county and after a slow sunset I caught two small Bass on a teaser. On Saturday I started before sunset in Lavallette I had a couple bumps and I saw alot of bait in the wash. It was looking good and I was planning on staying but it got stupid with guys driving the beach and shining lights on the water. At least it was good to see some structure forming and some life there after the beach replenishment disaster. I drove back up to Monmouth county and again caught two Bass one on a needlefish and another on a teaser. Nothing too big it it beats getting skunked. I have been seeing alot of bait so the table is set and I think its gonna break open very soon.

I gave it another try in Monmouth county Friday and Saturday night. On Friday I caught three Bass 18 to 25 inches on a teaser and I saw and spoke to other anglers that were catching as well. On Saturday I caught one Bass around 25 inches on a plug and that was it for me. I fished for over 5 hours and the conditions were nice but never got another touch.
