Still at it... nighttime walleye wed 7/10

Havent posted much the last few months. Been doing lots of fishing and not a lot of posting. Bouncing between fresh and salt, inshore and offshore, rivers and reservoirs.

Wednesday nite got out for a few hours on the river with my buddy. He managed 2 smallies 17 and 13 inchers on soft plastics. Short while later I whacked this toad walleye on a hard bait. She was 26.5" and oddly chubby for July. Every section we hit had copious amounts of bait swimming everywhere.

Had a mixed review hybrid season, too. Early on was getting 4, 5, 6 fish a nite. Then it dissipated to 3, 2, 1 fish nites. Biggest went 24.5" and nearly 8 lbs of mongo. Lost a memorable one too. Broke the hooks off my plug after a long distance tussle. They were newly replaced 2x trebles and split rings. Rings held up. Hook holders held up but the hooks not so much. She dumped about half of my ballistic LT 2500 with 150 yds of #15 j braid. All I saw of her was the explosion at strike that left a 4' hole in the water. Epic savage!

Some pics attached.

Alive and well! Between 3 kids, home repairs/renovations and work I'm still managing to get out during my vamp hours!

It's often a struggle. But it does keep me sane. Once the house is asleep i slip away for a few hours a couple nights per week. When its herring spawn I go 3-4 times a week. Those are rough times lol...

Dying to get back offshore now...

New to river walleyes- do you have better luck staying mobile and searching multiple holes or thoroughly fishing one spot you have confidence holds fish?

I'm more of a run-n-gun approach. I dont have the patience to coax a fish into chewing. I'd rather seek more willing targets and cover more water.

Getting it done! Big eyes, big hybrids and a multitude of species in the salt. Just awesome, dude!
