Finally Got My Unicorn Fish!

After almost five years of trying to catch the unicorn fish, I finally got him a few weeks ago at Ocean Grove. I caught not one but two stripers! One was short and the other was dinner. It was pretty disappointing how there was only a 45 minute window starting around 5am for the fish to bite. Once that sun hit the water it was all downhill from there. The fight was pretty exciting since my friend and I had no idea what was on the other end. We thought it was a blue at first. Now with the striper conquered, I can set my sights on my first shark now.

LMAO. It’s like all of the party boat pictures with people happily holding up their sea bass catches. There’s no way that some of those fish are even close to 12.5”. Sometimes I feel like an idiot for obeying the law while everyone around me is not.

That sink is 3 ft wide so shut up!! Slot fish taste way better than those big breeder cows. Keep the slots, take a pic then release the slobs!

Just because you see a picture on a PB doesnt mean that fish was retained. Gaff holes exempt lol. Really wish people would stop trying to put good people out of business. We Recreational fishermen / women need to stick together but that seems impossible. Worry about YOU and if you have questions on the pictures ask the captain directly, get the facts and then post
