Re: US Army

I thank all that gave their all so that we now don't speak German or Japanese and to all that fought in the subsequent wars and conflicts.
My father served in WW1--Coast Artillery(Navy) & Heavy Ordinance(Army)'
Brother-in-law Capt. in WW2 European Campaign(Army).
Brother served in WW2 Pacific Campaign(Navy).
I served during the "Cold war" from Sept. '57-Sept. '63 Navy Air. Stationed in Rota, Spain in what's now FAIRECONRON2, back then it was ECMRON2 or VQ-2 for 30 mo's--still can't figure that tour out-- Got to AT5, full crew member & 2nd Tech on a "Super Connie"--(that's the plane that TWA flew). I'd do it again.

Thanked an Army Vet that was in London during the "Blitz"--A Bobbie saved his life---pulled him toward a shelter at the start of an air raid and shrapnel-1' piece- landed just where he was standing! He still has the piece...
Another I thanked was a paratrooper and suffered a severe head wound-has trouble recalling and expressing thoughts now. As his 91 yo wife said of her 96 yo husband, "we may be old but we keep on ticking". Teared up after that one...
