I have a friend using the Nexus 1-4 and he likes it.... Seems a little light for my taste but to each his own. I wish they'd make the fore-grips a little longer but I guess that's a matter of taste as well and it would add to the weight of the rod.

I'm using the Blackhole Challenger 731M and like it. Plenty of sensitivity for me.. Some others I know using the 701L (lighter version) but more then a few of them have blow up under load so I would opt for the M here, not the L.

Just rec'd a Nexus 1-4 as an early Christmas gift from my wife.

Sunday's trip was blown out and conditions were not the best for jigging yesterday, so I can't report on it yet. I do like the feel of it though, if that means anything?

I have the jigging world ghost hunter 100. It's light but paired with a 3000 size reel and 20 lb braid it's a fun rod. The swear it will take 10 + lb tog, a fish I won't see cause I'm a hack but so far it's been a great rod for porgies and sea bass bouncing jigs.
Fish Stix has had several over 10 lbs with tbis rod.
One look at and you would think it's a trout rod but it has some back bone.
They also make a 150 version

Biggest tog I had on it was mabey 4 lbs and ohhh boy it was fun....

Do they have a spinning version of this rod? I can only find the conventional rod.

The JW Nexus 701MH has been my goto this fall from Cape May to RI and hasn't let me down yet. Have used it up to a 3oz jig which is the heaviest I would ever use. Sweet spot is like 1.5oz-2oz. Like others have said, great rod for the money being under $150!

Nice catch! Thanks for the pictures. We have been building these with various handles and wraps, and added some conventional versions. We have a bunch ready to go.
