Re: Jacks and mahi on the FLUKE grounds
High water temps might have something to do with them being in so close.

Re: Jacks and mahi on the FLUKE grounds
We saw those "jacks" in force last year a couple of times. I don't think they're jacks, forgot what the mate called them. I do remember it being a strange name. Good sign, bones should be here in numbers very soon.

Re: Jacks and mahi on the FLUKE grounds
Here we go again :) Is it a juvenile amberjack, almaco jack or banded rudderfish ?? This should be good for at least 30 opinions !!! I'll let this run a bit.

Re: Jacks and mahi on the FLUKE grounds
Nice to see these fish inshore... This the season and by the looks of some of the temp shots I've seen we could be in for for some great mid grounds fishing.
Another NJFer reported catching a White Marlin in the Glory Hole too http://www.njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81900 |

Re: Jacks and mahi on the FLUKE grounds
They always come in that far and even closer from late July to early Sept. Mahi can be as close as 2 miles off and rudderfish can be inside the inlets.
