Tile trip on russian roulette 6.14

1 Attachment(s)
Jumped on another open boat with Cpt.Denis of Russian Roulette .Plan was to go and fish for Tuna and Tiles .With lack of life the boys decided to go Tile fishing and we had a blast .Great fishing . Lots of action and ball breaking .Great bunch of guys .We "HARVESTED" our limit and headed for home in flat come seas . Since people are offended now I will only post a group shot and maybe some of haters won't complain .ORL:)Thank you Cpt.Denis and mate Eddie for another stellar trip !!!!!!!

Thanks for the report. I think people get frustrated at the closures, bag limit reductions and stricter size limits that keep getting changed, and not in recreational fishers favor and need somewhere to vent. I doubt if the hero pictures cause any of it but wouldn't be surprised. Fisherman contribute a LOT of money into the economy no matter what State they are from or fish in, it seems that doesn't matter because the environmental groups get stuff voted on in their favor. Personally I have joined the RFA, and have made small donations to Save the summer flounder type groups. A captain of a non-sponsor boat out of Ocean City, Maryland that specializes in sea bass fishing has posted a lot of info on his website and in his newsletters about how screwed up the data is, that is used to decide bag limits and seasons, Some years the Government regulators think that the shore and jetty based anglers in one State have caught more Tautog than the entire east coast fleet of private and for-hire boats combined.

I agree .The data they use is completely faulty and based on catches and not any scientific evidence .As for the tile limits ,honestly 7 fish is plenty per man if you are going out for a 12 hour trip but if you are on a 2 day charter on a PB it just sucks . As you can see in the last few reports the tile fish are plenty and there is no way rod and reel fisherman can do any damage to the species but somehow when the commercial guys get screwed we have to suffer with them . We can fight them but sadly the trend now favors the liberal environmentalists .Eventually same thing will happen here as in Mass with cod and haddock .All we can do is follow the regulations and write letters but without real money behind us it all falls on deaf ears .
