Hopatcong 4/26
 

Fished the big lake from 230-10 pm yesterday. Very nice day on the lake with not many people out. From 230-6 I chucked assorted Musky lures hoping for a MONSTER but struck out. Changed over to some smaller stuff to get my lines tight again. Came up with 10 pickerel, 1 LM and 4 big crappie between 6-815. Night falls and it got rather cold as soon as that sun went down. The lake was a ghost town. Started chucking some of my night EYE lures and had a good 1 on at 845, but came unbuttoned. 5 minutes later, another Walleye on and landed. Nice little 23 inch Eye, maybe around 4 lbs, real wide shoulders. Released the eye and kept casting, bite shut down, cold north wind was eating me up. Managed 1 more fish at 930, digging, fighting like a champ. I thought maybe it was a WIPER, not to be, but a big BUCKETMOUTH. LM measured 20 inches and definitely weighed 5 lbs, fat belly. Nice catch ed, was out from shore on brady bridge with my buddy last night from 945 pm to about 1145 pm. Managed one walleye a piece about the 4 pound range and a CHUNKY lm. Saw skunkcity out there in thd yak also lookin for an eye dont know how he made out. There was two boats out in front of us also dont know if one if them was you guys. Man do thise eyes give a good fight this tine of year.

Nice eye, and that bass is a PIG! Never too early in the season to go night fishing!

Thanx fellas! Good to get back into the fish! Night fishing is a totally different ball game. Little different technique and the Eyes are way more aggressive. I'm lovin it. Even the 10 Pickeral had me excited yesterday!:D

Nice catch buddy. Thought of you last nigh down at the D, when I got my truck and trailer to leave I looked up and someone had painted "Yeah Buddy" on those big concrete walls. Was that you Eddie, just kidding I know you wouldn't do something like that.

Nice Job!! Good lookin catch!

I havnt stayed out past sunset yet myself, but the time is coming. Gonna have to wrangle some bass, and some big cats........

Thanx BD! Cant wait for Walleye season to open. fished the big lake again yesterday from 4-730, trip was cut short, real short. Im fishing catching some pickeral and throwin some Musky lures again. Take a break at 630 to have my Quick Chek sub. Goes down real nice, tasty sub. Back to trollin and chuckin big lures. All of a sudden my stomach turning and bubbling, oh SHIT, literally. Rush back to Lees to have a movement. Took a 5 minute break in the truck, still messed up. Had to pack it in and rush home. Kids theres a lesson to be learned in this post. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU EAT FROM QUICK CHEK, IT COULD RUIN YOUR NIGHT!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!
