a question for Bass Master Tour Pros

I have been seeing a lot of forage fish (not sure it's alewife or shad) all over and I can also see bass chasing after them. I threw crank bait, buzz, spinner and variation of plastics (shaky head, power worm, wacky style, crawfish, etc.) in the middle of the bait fish, around the bait fish but NO bass is biting my lure.

Any suggestions?

I have always throw poppers at the schools I cast a lil to the side of the school like a stray fish works for me but sometimes all they want is the real thing

I was there yesterday also. I wonder whether I saw you? I was just catching white & yellow perch on those baits. NO BASS !!!! It kills me to see those bass eating away the bait fish but not biting my lure.

Throw a crankbait past the bait and rip it under them. When I say rip, I mean reel very fast. Do this a few times you will get crushed...

I went with my girlfriend. I caught 3 little dinks and one decent size bass. She got a little bass too.

I would try a Zara Spook, Fluke or maybe a jerkbait. You are trying to match the bait they are feeding on and making it look wounded makes it an easy target. Good Luck!:)

"Match the hatch? with the size and presentation. Working the outside edge of a pod of baitfish can be more productive than casting into it. Under them is also the way to go. The larger fish will be looking for the easier targets and not chasing the bait so much as the dinks tend to do.

It is crazy frustrating. I have seen the same at Lake Nockamixon. Huge schools. Splashing. Marking big fish on the ff, probably hybrids and they won't touch anything. All different lures, live shiners....doesn't matter.

Will try all the suggestions and will report the results. I am bringing my BIG tackle box today. Overcast today.. but a bit of Cold Front. Wish me luck.
