Dave has a ton of respect in my book (for all two cents that is worth). He isn't in this for the TV ratings, he is in it for the fish and this is his career. It's been said here many times that the show and the 'real fishing world' are two different things. We don't see the whole picture or hear all the conversations, just what drama the producers decide to put in the show that will keep everyone in front of the TV. For all we know, Paul could be the Snooki of the sea, great for reality TV ratings but not much else.

As for the Pinhead, I think he is finding out first hand that doing business with
friends is hardly a good thing. If you want to keep your friends, don't go into business with them especially if you are the only one in the mix that has any investment in the pot. He may be able to catch a lot of fish, but that doesn't make you a great fisherman. Again we aren't seeing the whole story, he is portrayed as the arrogant new kid on the show, but to be a true fisherman means respecting the locals and learning from them instead of pissing them off and talking smack to them. Its a rite of passage for the newbies in the area to be harassed by the local pros, not the other way around. Fishing Karma will hit him soon I bet.

Dave is doing what he has to do in protecting his investment. That is not just the boat and associated costs but something far more valuable in his reputation. Why does everyone say they are coming after dotcom for 2 seasons? Because year in and out he has beat all his competition.

Paul broke the number one rule. Do not bite the hand that feeds you. He has been feeding off Dave for 11 years now.

Watch how humble Sandro is. Last episode was the first time I have ever seen him with a swagger like that. Yet he was still humble compaired to Paul talking trash about Dave.

Like Dave posted lets see what he does with another boat. When Billy took Scott back and Paul was left looking for work that said a lot right there.

Sandro's first two words were at age 8, "soups cold."

I actually just started watching the show a few weeks ago, and watched it at the very beginning when it first came on. I regained interest this winter because I have the time to watch it LOL. Initially, I took interest in the show because I spoke to Dave a few years ago on the phone about cod fishing right before my dad passed. We spoke for about 40 minutes about him being from NJ, the fisheries up in MA, and everything within our business and it was a great converssation. Dave came across as a great guy who has a world of knowledge, and also, being from NJ got my "due respect" up front - so Dave if you read this I WILL get up there to fish w/ you guys at some point in time :)

My take on the show: Marciano is old school, a VERY RESPECTABLE guy and somebody that's out there for the right reasons. The kid on the shiny boat w/ the long hair is an intense, passionate kid and he's a real gamer - gotta love that about his character too. He's running a tight ship and he knows what he wants and knows what he's doing. "Hot head" Ralph is intense - he's demanding - he's like most of us are at certain times. You never know if the cameras are playing up one side of him while at other times he's somebody else - at one point in last week's show he was bantering with the mate when he was "talking" - showing a playful side. I'm sure Ralph is a good guy.

And Sandro. Man that kid is good! He can fish, he can run the boat, and he can make Dave his coffee and oatmeal. Gotta love it!!(you reading this KENNY?)

I know one thing I don't want to do, ever, in Gloucester, is shoot that bridge with a HARD tide on my stern - that thing makes the train bridge in the Manasquan OR the old Route 88 PP Canal Bridge look like a walk in a park
