Thumbs up on releasing that big Blackfish. I caught one around 14lbs last year and released it also. Hmmm I wonder if thats the same one ?? :)

Even though he did not have real white belly, that big square chin leads me to believe it was a big male. I will send Monty an email to see what he thinks as he has done some sexing studies in the past.

Interesting to hear what he says. The white coloration isn't always the best determining factor as I've seen a few that were really big old whitechins and were females. Head looks a little flat and usually the big males have a white spot or two on their sides. Pics don't really show one that I can see though it may be faint. Coloration is also in between. Was just curious.

Regardless, a beauty of a fish and congrats again!!!
