Grab a box of squid from the food store. You can use the small ones whole.

Go get 'em men! The forcast looks good. Looks like all of the the pre-slaughter excitement has officially begun. Looking foward to the report, all are a great group of fishermen! You should do well. No light sinkers as Leif had stated!:D

Ben

Are you the kid with the Flyers' orange hair wig I saw on the Gambler once who won a sea bass pool?

Thanks Howie for posting this. Here's to a great comfortable trip!

Just a few more tips/recommendations to make the trip more comfortable.

I am not the Capt. and not in charge but I think most will agree with what I have written below. Please add constructive comment if you wish. We all want to have an enjoyable trip.

No boarding means no sticking your rod in the holder from the dock, saving bunks and putting stuff in the cabin in advance. People paid in advance so they can board first.

Please use heavier sinkers. I would start with 18oz and go up or down from there. No one wants a tangle in 200ft of water. Frozen fingers and braid do not mix well. Nothing worse than having some guy on the other side using an 8oz sinker and catching your rig on the bottom, then reeling it up as a twisted mess.

Please take a pill in advance if get sea sick or think you may get sea sick. It can be avoided. Even the best of us don't feel well at times. The weather looks good but it is a long trip. Please consider this and if you do feel ill, please go out side. Do not puke in the head, garbage can in the cabin or bunk room. You will make everyone unhappy.

If you are jigging, please use jigs that are heavy enough as well. I am bringing 12 and up to 24.

Bring your own rags to wipe your hands. You may annoy others by reaching around them to use their rag while they are fishing. When they need it, it is all slopped up with fish slime and clam juice.

Don't use other peoples coolers as a seat or measuring device unless you ask. Cracked tops and frozen slime covered lids from others are not pleasant.

Put extra rods up top or in the overhead holders. Nothing like seeing 90 rods in the holders when 30 guys are fishing.

Thanks,

Leif

Good Additional comments!

Camera..and batteries

Bring your meds

Bring Squid if you want it

3/0-5/0 hooks for sea bass

Thanks Snapperhead!

Leif

The trip in one word....stellar.

A complete boat limit even for the guys that were sick and we're not able to get to the rail. Hats off to Capt. Bob, Capt. Mike and the rest of the crew.

Bobby put us on a spot in the dark and they bit there heads off from the start. Everyone fished hard

Thanks again for another successful NJF-Gambler fishing trip.

WOW What a great trip we had on the NJFISHING.COM Gambler Offshore Sea Bass trip today.

It was great to meet some new great fisherman like Dan, Jay and all the others. It was a pleasure and I hope to fish with you all again. Also good to see you Steve.

Thank you Howie for putting the trip together.

Looks like everyone wound up with their limit. we had some Porgies and Sea Bass as well. Our crew(Jon, Howie, Bill, Chad, Jack and myself had our limit before 9:00 am and fished for Porgies and threw some in the box for those who needed a few more to reach the limit.

The weather was great as well. A little cold but not bad for Feb. Tom was on the money with the Galley and made my day with the pork roll, egg and cheese after boxing 15 jumbos! Thanks Tom.

Thanks again to the Gambler. Good to see Bobby, Mike, Tom and the boys again.

Great fishing and seeing you all. Some Pictures.....

Jeezus, what a great freakin' day! I had to take Advil for my aching arms after pulling up so many jumbo doubles! Last night I truly experienced a whole new level of exhaustion

The only thing more abundant than jumbo biscuits were the belly laughs - Chad, Jay, John, Madman, you guys are all a riot :D

Yesterday was one of those rare instances in which all the stars fell into alignment - weather was stellar, seas were flat, fish were biting, company was great, food was great, beer was cold and abundant, cognac was warming. it was the kind of trip that spoils you for all others.

Great to meet so many members and cant wait to do it all over again. Thanks to all for being part of the experience and the memories!
