Re: There Looking To Ban Soft Baits
This whole thing smells funny to me. I clicked the "Contact Us" link at the top of the Keep America Fishing home page and asked them for more specifics on the alleged bill, and they haven't responded for 2 days. They also have a big "Donate" link there, and drumming up business on the site, plus getting names and addresses of fishermen, could be their real motivation.
I also contacted the Maine legislator who supposedly sponsored the alleged bill, and he hasn't replied in 2 days either, but may be unavailable or something. There's no rhyme or reason for what's described in the OP and creating outrage all over the Internet, and I'm wondering if it's just another urban legend. I just get swamped with people raising hell about it when I Google search it, and on the congressman's own web page, there was no proposed Maine legislation at all on the specified date, nor does searching of the topic bring up any hits. I'll update on here if either of my emails is answered. |

I think it's very possible that K.A.F. is just trying to increase traffic on its web site and compile a nice long list of names and addresses of known fishermen. This is the Internet, yanno... |
