Jigging is art. I enjoy jigging from seabass, striper, haddock, cod, grouper, yellowtail or tuna.
They rarely swallow jigs as you set the hook as soon as they hit jigs.

They are very effective sometimes. You got to see hundred commercial boats jig striper together with light spinning gears in MA waters.

I caught, tagged and released many different species of fish in Manasquan Inlet while fishing from shore with an Ava A-17 plain hook jig. Stripers are difficult to catch with a jig.
