i just don't find the big bait big fish theory to hold true much here in NJ...if i look back on big fish catches, most of my biggest bass, muskie, and walleye were caught on small to regular sized lures 3-5"... i figure it's because we don't have a lot of bigger baitfish species (not including panfish) in north and north central jersey lakes and reservoirs like they do in other places so even big fish are very inclined to take lures the size of avg or big herring...i've seen some massive sized herring in cong, but idk how common they are over 6-7" (seen them net ones around 10-12" now and then at dows) |
