Not a well known fact, but some winter over in deep channels in the bay and inshore ocean... Same as years ago when people would be surprised by big winter flounder in the bay in august... There are always "residents" of many species.. Doesn't mean they will always be active, but there's a lot more life down there than people realize. bob

flounder are starting to show up in southern nova scotia, the water temp is 6.1 c at the moment and has to come up a bit more for them to be plenty around the wharf. we are allowed 10 per day any size, i usually let the small ones go back as there are plenty to catch. over the past 6 years the amount of flounder in coastal waters has exploded making it a very fun fishery.
