If you're ever in the Northern NJ area, your best bet is to stop by the store in Rochelle Park and see all the rods in person. The shogun is only available as a blank right now, but there are some customs premade on the rack to check out.

Sorry just saw this question. The Lexa 300H is primarily the only reel I use. I upgrade to a JW power handle, load it up with 20 or 30lb Sufix 832 and call it a day. Everything from back bay fluke, seabass/tog, even up north to Mass using 20oz sinkers.

What gear ratio on the 300?

The P is 5.1, H is 6.3 (to me its the sweet spot) and the HS/HS-P is 7.1

I have used the Lexa 300 P 5.1 ratio w/ JW power handle for the past three years and it is my goto fluke reel with a couple 100 keeper fluke. I have fished this reel hard for three years without any issues to date
