I use an Avet SX MC. I do not have a well-educated thumb, but I can cast this with no problems and it's a great fluke/seabass reel.

My only suggestion is to also look at the SXJ, as you make like the narrower reel better than the SX.

Might want to also consider a Quantum Accurist PT...much cheaper than an Avet and you're able to drop down and set the hook with one hand.

Watch some John Skinner fluke videos on YouTube, that's all he uses and you'll see that he pulls them in one after another.

Everyone here knows I'm an Avet diehard, but in this case, what others have suggested about the Lexa 300H, Abu NaCl 50, Quantum Accurist PT are right on point. I met up with someone yesterday who wanted two fluke setups and wanted Avet SXJ's. They walked out with two Quantum Accurist PT's loaded with 10lb Sufix 832... If you're going to JUST use the reel for fluke then go with either of the three mentioned above. If you're gonna use the reel for mixed use then consider the SXJ. And I wouldn't waste your money on the MC feature either. After a short time you're going to hate it when you want to drop down fast on a quick drift and the MC feature is slowing you down...
Prices MSRP... Accurist PT $99, Lexa 300H $199, Abu NaCL 50 (discontinued) $249 or $299 sorry can't remember.

casting an avet for fluke? why? if youre casting you are probably using at most like a 2oz bucktail, with thin line like <20# braid. get a simple levelwind conventional with a thumb bar like you would fish for freshwater bass. I use a quantum smoke inshore baitcaster on an old abu Garcia conlon rod rated up to like 1oz in my kayak.

although if you're casting bigger bucktails with 6inch gulp, then yea ill use the avet. I use the avet mainly to drag big bait for fluke.

As mentioned the Lexa 300 or Abu Nacl are great choices
I have been fishing the Lexa 300 for the past 3 years as my main go to reel for bucktailing. Picked mine up at jigging world with power handle and have not looked back. Spoiled with 20 lb braid
Can not wait to use it again this year on my totally redone Diawa interline Rod that I totally redesigned for this years fluke season
If it fishes and holds up as good as it looks the flatfish are going to be in big trouble

Why not just bucktail with a spinning rod and reel?? Less birdsnests and easy to cast.
