Didn't get a chance to get a look today, but because it's an actual pipe and not a CSO, don't think it has stopped. |
Re: Passaic Valley Water Commission...NASTY WATER!!
Wondering after that last post if my river is indeed still getting "shit on", took a ride to see.
Yes, the pipe is still spewing into the water!! Had it been a CSO, probably would've stopped. Pulled up the same time as 2 gentlemen sent to survey the problem and one said as it was spewing as is, (which was a good amount), pumps turn on and make it shoot even more out until the pumps stop again. As he said this we actually watched the water shoot out more & he confirmed the "pumps" just kicked on. At least the wheels are in motion, hope it gets taken care of properly soon. |
Re: Passaic Valley Water Commission...NASTY WATER!!
Interesting post. I have fished the passaic by a few different pipes in the past. I have smelled sewage pretty strongly in the past. I still caught fish so did not think anything of it. I just thought that it was normal after a heavy rain. But continuous days of it is very sad esox. Once after one of the bad floods back in 2009, I saw a couple of balls of used toilet paper shooting out of the pipe. It was disgusting. i will be sure to call if I ever see that again.

I thought CSO's were only activated during high water events ?
