Dale, you don't need to spend a lot of money on musky lures, you just need to buy the right ones. I caught almost half my muskies this year on one lure. You have to keep in mind that for the most part, and there are exceptions, a musky isn't going to expend the energy to eat a 4 or even a 6-inch Rapala. It's like going out to dinner and ordering a Tic Tac. A big profile 8- to 10-inch lure may seem big to the angler, but not the musky.

And now that you caught a couple, for the love of God put the live bait away. It's a fragile fishery, and a great way to destroy it is by having lurkers read reports and start yanking 6/0 Gammies out of muskies all year.
