When I was there I just sprayed myself with DEET and I was fine. No need for insect body armor. They were out in force though. Before I loaded up with repellent I had walked to the water's edge to scout the section and in the 2 minute walk there and back to the car I was bitten twice and killed another dozen or so landing on me.
