Re: how many surf guys are there?
I am an an avid surfcaster who used to fish jetties close to 100 nights a year. However, I now have back problems and though I hate to admit it, I have grown older too. Now, I fish more from my boat than I do from the surf but I still to both quite often.

unless you are the captain fishing on a party boat, charter boat or your buddies vessel is easy. Just pay attention. The fish finder don't lie...
unless there is a blitz or you are glued to your cell phone, surf fishing you are the captain aka you find your own fish....huge difference. people say how big is your largest striped bass I never include the ones I caught on a boat...just isn't the same. |

Re: how many surf guys are there?
O'Connor couldn't agree with you more! My largest is 37 that was last may not in a blitz either was pencil poping when all hell broke lose had a hand full of 3os but second most memorable was by a 32.5 in 2.5 3ft of water in raritan bay. I was about 2oo yrd off the beach on a sandbar at low tide it was around mothersday b.c thats when jumbo spearing start up and i rember thinking about them when i got crashed only about a ft away b4 i was about to lift the plug screaming reel and landed the fish. Both fish weighed and released. Still waiting on that 4o and 5o++ and when i hook her she will swim away freely to! Measure picture shake of the fin and a life long memory for both me and the fish!
