I've been hit by lightning once and that was enough. General rule of thumb, if you can here thunder you are close enough to be hit. If it looks bad, get off the water, there will be other days.

I say go for it, but have a nearby, shore walkin, backup plan. If you take the long ride and the weather gets ugly, drive to plan b. If its still sh!tty by then, drive back and go to the nearest watering hole, lol.

Gonna have to make the drive then thanks guys. But another question are you allowed to fish the rocks by spruce run on the depth map website it shows limit of public use?

One you get a electric shock thru your ugly stick its time to get off the water. Happened to me at RV when day many years ago. Not good.

If you have a pacemaker or a difibulator stay away from lighting and power lines.
TRUE STORY: Person I know who has a difibulator implant was fishing the SB with a graphite fly rod under a power line. Somehow the eletrical field around the power line created a charge in the graphite rod and set the difibulator off. He thought he had been shot, it knocked him off his feet and into the water said he had never been hit like that in his life.

So far looks good for the morning but if I see anything in the clouds ill go to my car and wait it out if anything.

as of now they are saying chance of afternoon showers/Tstorms, no biggie if u get there early. I fish thru rain and storms its usually good fishing, always have rain gear in ur boat, I use cheap set of frogtoggs work good and not hot in summer rains. Its the lightning u gotta watch out for, if u hear thunder fish close to the ramp. Its gonna be good fishing 2moro w all the storms/fronts comin thru

Thanks jimmythegreek that's what I figured I'd do ill fish wherever and check my radar every once in awhile if I see something coming ill fish by the ramp if anything I can always sit in the car if there is lighting.
