Someone was selling a spool of 80# SS pretty cheap, so I was like wth.. just try it out.
I spooled my bx2-500 and jigged with it a few times and it seems much better than regular PP as the line was pretty smooth and not too thick.
I would use it again.

I like the way it cast. Don't know about casting reel though. My knots are holding good as reg. pp. I'll probably buy it again.

Definitely better than the original for many occasions- my main reason for this is the sound that gets projected all the way down the line with the original, having been down on the bottom next to a rig, you can hear every crank when the braid passes through the eyes, not so much on lighter setups but say a 3 oz jig and up or so, I prefer silent n deadly.

When I made the original post I was looking at the same thing but in 30#, so that was what prompted the question. Since then a bought a new avet and had it spooled with 30# ss and loved it ! I'm goona re-spool my other gear with it when I get a chance.

I used it on 3 fluke reels this summer. I like it better than regular PP. I find the the coating does wear off near the working end. I cut back about 5 feet after each trip. Using a top shot stopped the wear.
