Beautiful fish ! Congratulations on the care given on releasing of this fish!
That's are real feat , catch more fifty LB Stripers than carp for sure!
Hopefully those dock shots nobody really needs to look at in that fishery will evolve into this to protect our future bass fisheries!

I used to date a girl from Baldwinsville too. I've caught some big smallies from Onondaga. Good luck man and again...congrats.

The reason we drive an hour plus is to get away from being 10 min from the house and enjoy the outdoors and picking apart a river in hopes of big fish on lite tackle.

Agreed Shucker! Nothing like finding a stretch of stream that doesn't get a lot of pressure, and working it to find those nice fish! We all pretty much live close to somewhere we can fish on a regular basis, but there's nothing like finding a nice secluded section away from everyone (plus, I like enjoy hiking to those tucked away spots)

I'm the same way. I hate noise, people crossing my lines, people drilling holes right next to me on the ice, jet skiis...I love going out of my way to find some peace and quiet, and when you're lugging around 50 pounds of carp gear or dragging a sled full of pike and muskie gear through the snow those long hikes are damn good exercise too!

Excellent pictures. Based on them, there should be a catch and release category of state records.

I refuse to fish in crowds and have plenty of spots no one knows about. I love the outdoors as much as anyone and God knows I've spent hours driving, hiking or canoeing to catch fish. I guess I just never understood the whole trout thing.
