You are right about those Seekers. They are GREAT blackfish rods; you can feel a bergall fart next to your crab AND handle a big fish easily. Pass on to Grumpy and Mike how happy I am with the Custom Rod you built for me!

I didn't catch one single living thing today:mad: :mad:!!!!!!

Not a bergal
not a skate
not a dogfish
not a sculpin
not a black fish (short or otherwise)!!!!!

I tried whole whites, half whites, soft whites, hard whites, whites with legs, whites without legs, shrimp and hermits, and caught NOTHING!!!!!

I went thru 14 chuncks of sams lead, and a whole lot of ribbing! NOT one of my better days!

with that out of the way, I had a great day with quality people! a great way to spend my birthday!

Congrats, and thanks to LAB for his PB and all of his time putting this together! It truly was VERY NICE fishing (if thats what you call it) with everyone of you! Also thanks to MVP (I think) who brought a bday cake, it went well with the leftovers from yesterdays cake:)!

Now as stated above, outside of this thread, I will never discuss this days results again!

LAB - first of all congrats on the title! You really deserve it, you put your time in it was only a matter of time before you got that beauty - congrats on it also being your PB and for the crown and thanks for putting this trip together.

It was great fishing with everyone on the trip. Thanks to Kenny and Chris and special shout out to my man Tony Foul Hook - that ziti was outstanding, you are going to make someone a great bride :)

Congrats mike. Very nice fish today. Thanks for putting together a great trip. Glad the roast beef was a hit.

Wish someone could have either turned on the heat or turned the fan off my hands are still burning. New it was gonna be a cold one when I came out to find my rod and reel encapsulated in ice. Picky bite again really had to wait out the right bite.

Weighted my big fish after it was bled when I got home on digital at 6 lb 14oz.

Again thanks mike for the hard work and see you next year.

What about doing it during one fish limit before season opens. We are only looking for "the one" anyway....

I would have loved to see Ray'S fish, the way his rod was thumping and when it started towards the bow you knew it was a beast. That Momoi mono is garbage for bottom fishing, sorry you had to find out the hard way....that sucks.

All that time spent typing out the odds and organizing these trips surely paid off... Santa must have been watching, just not the stuff coming out of your mouth, well deserved Mr. Wells very nice fish and Orange Custom.
Guess that was the best $80 newell you ever purchased lol .. glad I could contribute to your success...

Make a few copies of the pics and carry them with you like Steve did, so when people want to "no" what a 11.7#'er looks like you can give them a little keepsake...

Congrats again, and thank you for organizing/running the pre-lim was a great day on the water, and nice to know my little 2# 3oz'er would have given me a shot at the title.. but instead I chose to bang my head off the urinals in East Rutherford

I Don't think anyone stated the fact that when, the champ, was bringing the winning fish to the surface he was tangled with at least one line and had several others right next to him, and still managed to keep his cool! Again Mike nice fish and as always great job worth both charters. You deserve it!

Any one else's hands still tingling today... What a group of sick F^&%S we are as fisherman. We need our fishing fix that bad we are willing to freeze our balls off to do it and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. People look at me funny at work when then ask me what is wrong with my hands and I say I was out fishing. They ask ice fishing I say no on the ocean. They say we are nuts I say they are the ones that are nuts and don't know what they are missing.

was talking to stellie and we are starting design of blackfish catameran that you can fish from the inside of the cabin you could charge a fortune for a fair on those exceptionally cold days.
