Ramapo Recon 10/12

10/13. A buddy and I did some Ramapo Recon today( Followed the Stocking Truck) :D

Lots of fish in the river now although flows suck. Lots of BIG fish too. Lots of TU guys helping out spreading the fish around. Fished for 2 hours from 3-5 until the after work crews starting showing up in force. Caught 1, hooked a few more, tons of follows etc. Need some RAIN!

Seems like every fall now we get the shaft on rain. Need a good 2 inch rain and spread them out.

yeah its been too many falls now where the flows have sucked and its really unfortunate because the fall stocking is a great idea and the fish size is excellent. With no water it makes getting a good fight almost impossible. The more I fish the Ramapo the more I really don't like it, its not a good trout river and their is absolutely no by catch, no smallmouth or any else for that matter. You can cast spinners and plugs for stretches/100s of yards and not see a single fish.
