Havent been out as much and when I have been it's been at North Branch.

So hitting the main stem and nailing some larger bass has been satisfying.

I normally take good pics, but here's three bad pics of the same fish to make up for it. Learning how to get good shots with a camera timer.

Landed her right between the weed section and a deep run. She had some smaller buddies around, along with a big cousin Larry; unfortunately didn't hook him.

Originally sighted these fish, they got close to me and got disinterested with my marabou jig plopping infront of them.
I then lose sight of them, they probably schooled elsewhere. I then retreated behind the weeds near the shore and casted a few times in the general area. Felt like any normal fish at first. When I saw it coming up I said "that's the fish!"

The rest of the day was a bit lame but managed some ok bass and BIG redbreast.

Bonus pics.

The big girl was caught at 10:50am on a 1/16 oz black marabou jig. However not in a shaded area like most of the time. Maybe the weeds gave enough shade/shelter?

Im also going to report that I saw some spawning beds in the river. While I used to see plenty of sunfish beds earlier in the season, these beds were deeper into the stony river bed.

Im wondering what these could have been. Odd since I cant think of any fish that spawn this late, other than carp since I hear they have awkward spawning times.

The beds were cleaned and not covered in the typical "river dust" that settles overtime

There's a ton of these Redds. Andy and I went in today and found what I noticed in another stretch of the river.

I'm not sure if there's that many sea runs or sturgeons.

I stuck my hand into the Redds and inspected the rocks; nothing eggy. Odd.

Nice fish buddy! Way to stick it out on the main stem! There's some rather large Smallies cruising around this time of year. Be prepared if you hook one! :D
