Looking for a accessible place in central jersey to take the grandkids. Lookng for bigger fish than our shore mudholes offer. They're getting tired of the little ones (3 - 5 #s). PM me I'm surely not going to burn your spot... I' m luckiy if I can get them for one day a season. After baseball and soccer and karate and dance, doesn't leave any fishin time.
Thanx Doug

Not sure where central jersey you are but you can give turkey swamp park a try Have some nice bass and crappie fishing Plenty of open shore to fish from plus they have boat rentals on weekends I think lake is about 17 acres Might be some catfish in there also

.

The trouble with bigger fish is longer waits. The longer between bites, the harder it is to keep their attention.

Maybe try fishing at night for catfish. You're just about guaranteed action and it allows the other stuff on your schedules to be done during the day.

West Husdon park in Kearny. Bread on a hook, no sinker and they come up like giant gold fish and suck it up.

Shadow lake held state state record sized fish but shore access to their lair is non existant. All private property.

Deal Lake has some giants.

I talked with a couple of old timers one day while they were waiting for a bite. They said they were still in their twenties when they got there.:D They had the rigs down, too ! Mini chum pots instead of sinkers and double hook rigs . Must not have been a good day.

Back of spruce run. Look for the tents and carpers.

Above the headgates dam of Duke Island Park, use the Sellers maintenance area entrance, nice concrete platform there, big deep water, seen some monstahs pulled out of this spot.
