A Raritan River giant! Is it just me, or are there a lot more of these showing up than their used to be?

We can only hope Lard. We need more catch and release and also enforcement to protect the big fish in our river. It's obviously getting cleaner. Now we need it protected from some of the brigaders.

What regulations would you personally place? I never see any game wardens either.

No kill on smallies. Slot walleyes 2 fish 18-21 or 22". Whatever you wanna do with the rest...keep the rest of the current regs in place.

The problem is people don't follow the regs we currently have in place so I HIGHLY doubt they'd follow anything of remote complexity. I also do it for sport. Others might do it to eat. Clearly I'm biased. Fishing (esp fresh) isn't a major revenue driver like it is elsewhere so the state cannot justify more budget towards increased enforcement. Dollars are needed to make sense--simply put.

But I digress...obviously something we could all chime in on but that's for a different thread. Now back to the submarine smallie this dude caught lol.

I stopped at a bridge on the north branch last friday and tossed a keitech laced chatterbait into the shadow underneath. three 20" beasts followed it out in pack mode, good sign!
