Greetings all,

I am the head guide at the Lodge at River Valley. We are currently looking for up to 5 individuals to join as trial members for the fall fishing season, September 15 - December 15.

Our piece of the Musconetcong is just shy of two miles, and has an extremely high rate of holdover fish. With our absolute cap of 20 members, you will often be the only person on the whole stretch. We do stock it, but with an aim to keep fish around for a long time and to keep up with a family of bald eagles! We are 100% fly fishing only / catch & release.

The trial membership will run from September 15 - December 15, spanning ideal fall fishing conditions on the Musconetcong which means lots of aggressive streamer takes and colored up brookies, browns, and rainbows. The total cost will be $1700 for four months of pristine trout fishing on one of the New Jersey's most beautiful and undeveloped stretches of river, only an hour from downtown Manhattan. More information and pictures are available at www.thelodgeatrivervalley.com.

If you are interested in joining for 2018, annual membership dues at the Lodge are $5700, with a $12,000 initiation which can be paid over the course of 3 years. Most of that goes towards maintenance of the club and the river, but we are also in the process of building a sporting clays course on the Lodge grounds. We currently host 4 clay shoots a year at the Lodge, and we will be hosting our first wing shoot this fall. Bow hunting memberships are also available for the season.

There are no guest fees at the Lodge, and you are free to stay overnight in one of the lodge's 3 rooms with a small cleaning charge. Also included with membership are golf and dining privileges at Hawk Pointe, a course just down the road from the lodge.

Please contact me at alexanderford120@gmail.com if you are interested and we will find a day for you to come out for a guided day of fishing.

Cheers & tight lines

Alex Ford

I'll have to trade in my Carhartt coat for Orvis Tweeds to hang out in the lodge and smoke cigars with the guys.

pay to fish rivers are terrible for the sport. i am so glad that most other states don't have NJ's ridiculous stream bed ownership laws.

is the lodge at river valley a NJF site sponsor?

9/15-12/15 is 91 days. four months? oh i get it you meant you get to fish in sept oct nov and dec. i guess "two months and two half months" sounded less sexy.

Fly fishing only???? I can't use my powerbait on my catfish rod :p jk

Honestly don't get why you wouldn't just take trips up to NY with the money instead.

But hey I won't complain if your stocked fish swim into public waters :D

I'm sure it's a beautiful stretch of river and it seems like you mean well Alex, but I doubt you'll get any takers on this board.

I often run into ppl who won't waste money on a fishing licence. Doubt that theyll get "real" anglers to commit with such high prices.I also agree with L.A., I'm sure that a few guys here can lend some bigger better trout pics if needed for persuasion. The lodge looks nice though. Free wifi? Gotta check out Njf!!!

17 Grand is probably half my yearly salary..... TU's membership fee is only 35 bucks and supports all local streams, not just one. I'm sure you guys have a great spot and great fishing, but I can't see myself being able to afford this until I'm rich and famous (which I will be one day, be on the lookout).

Good luck though! I'd call up the president and see if some of his golfing buddies are interested :D

For those of us old enough the poupon only comes with a Rolls Royce.
This is only the Audi and Benz crowd:eek:
