Hello fellow fisherman,

I am looking for a shark hook remover and since the one I’m using is not so great, I’m reaching out to the forum to get an idea. Looking for one that I can use on Makos and Threshers just to save some fingers.

Also be careful when you go from the Glory Hole out to Hudson Canyon since the CG boarded us just to check for HMS permits, safety equipment and registration. We were good as these guys were from Virginia and are patrolling the area. Just a fyi.

Yes and a good reminder for everyone who plans to fish for Shark and Tuna.... You need a Highly Migratory Species Permit (HMS). It's easy to get and relatively inexpensive and you can get on online right here.

We carry big game dehookers that work on sharks, tuna. and marlin. It features 1 6ft handle.

Thanks Dave. The 6 ft dehooker, is that a pole dehooker, who makes them?

Yes it is attached to a fiberglass shaft. It is made by a small company in Mass., they also manufacture some items for Skurge of the Sea.
