14th Annual Teen Angler Event @ Pequest Hatchery’s Education Pond 7/22/17

8 spots still open.

70 anglers, aged 12 - 20, can catch & release as many trout as they want on a single barbless hook baited with worms or on a lure with a single barbless hook. Each angler can keep 4 trout @ 16” or larger. Bring your own rod / reel, tackle & worms.

Hot dogs / chips for lunch, & every participant gets a prize. Everything is FREE.

It's a great event for the youngsters! Mark B. graciously volunteers his own time every year to help out with this and act as liaison between NJF&W and the National Teen Anglers organization. Just one of the many selfless, un-compensated things he and our other fisheries biologists do year after year!
I'll have my grandson there again this year and he is definitely excitedly looking forward to it!

makes me real happy, since we havent gotten out on the water as much as I'd like with baseball and softball games, so this will be extra special :)

Just wanted to say how great of an event this really was. I will be posting pics this weekend but my son caught a 23 inch...9.89 lb rainbow today and he hasn't stopped smiling since. Mark and his crew did a great job with the children today and I cannot thank them enough for giving my son the fishing trip he will never forget!!!! Thanks again Mark and crew!!!!

Definitely another great event again this year! I had my 2 grandsons there and they both had a blast! On Sunday I took them to a stretch of the Flatbrook and they again hammered rainbows for hours on end! Overall just a great weekend!
Many thanks as always to National Teen Anglers, the Konya family for all their hard work organizing and running the event, and of course a big 'Thankyou!" to Mark B. and everyone at NJF&W involved with this event! It would simply not be possible without all these good folks!
