Holiday weekend fishing!!!!!

Did some holiday weekend fishing! I didn't find anything huge but managed to get some action regardless of the hoards of people on the rivers and streams!
Saturday on the big "D" and lower "M!" Found some schoolie Stripers while jigging for Walleye. All dinks, nothing picture worthy! Hit the musky on the way out. Plenty of Trout around to play with. Water still feels pretty cool out west. Managed to whack a nice Brown amongst all the goofy Rainbows.

Sunday on the "D!" Too much traffic but the Channel cats didn't seem to mind. I must've had at least 5000 kayakers and canoe people pass me on the river. It was amazing! Floatillas ruled the water Sunday for sure! They're feeding pretty heavy right now despite the phenomenal amount of Shad that are around. Shad are dying off slowly but surely!!! It's about time!

Monday stayed local and visited some of my pets! They were very happy to see me and receive some free mouth piercings for the holiday weekend! Good weekend on the rivers, streams and 'criks!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!

Looks like a great weekend. I knew the Big D was going to be a circus this weekend with the holiday and the state parks closed. I was working this weekend, but if I had a choice, I would have stayed away from the river.

I don't know how many outfitters are operating on the river now, but it must be A LOT. The river becomes a log-jam of kayaks and canoes until after Labor Day. I don't mind sharing the river with the canoes because they're not fishing and they park their cars somewhere else.

Very nice! Your pets have nice teeth. These guys in Wal-Mart toy kayaks make us serious kayak fishermen look bad. Almost had to roll out of my yak to squeeze one of their throats on the Big river last week. When your kayak hits mine I think your to close. Ah! Maybe its just me.

I was wading the D on the 4th, but later in the evening after the last Hot Dog Man flotilla.

Caught a number of smallies (1 nice one), mostly on the Rainbow Trout Rapala, & a couple on a Skitter Pop. Also, on the RT Rapala: a Fallfish, 2 Walleyes (18" was the biggest) & 2 Stripers (20" was the biggest).

I'm always like, slippery squirming pissed fish in one hand, camera at arms length in the other......I'm lucky if I get half a blurry fish in the frame, and I'm a photographer! Seriously, how do you do that?

Hahahahaha!!! I use the timer cam app for my phone dude! 5 seconds and the pics taken and the fish is back in the water. It takes a lot of practice but you'll get used to it!!!
