I have been searching for cats recently with no luck. I have used cutbait, livers, and live bluegill with nothing but turtles drivng me insane. I have been heading out to places that are stocked by NJDFW, and cannot seem to hook one. Am I doing something wrong? Any spots you could share with me? TIA

I've caught two on lures in the last 4 trips... At full daylight.
The canal has cats in em. But I've heard this only come out at night.

canal at night on a hotdog slice pushed down on an untied treble hook first to keep the eels from stealing the bait then tied on with a weighted fish finder rig. bail open, finger on the line to differentiate from the nippers and the real thing, net, and a red headlamp for the bugs.

I'm not familiar with that area, do some driving to spruce run and they're plentiful.
