With the temps rising I decided to hit the main stem early Sunday. Put on the waders and hit the water at 6am. One lmb, one smb (not picture worthy), and no trout. The river was alive though, mosquito's were everywhere, aggressive sunny's were stacked up on beds, fry were in the shallow water, and a school of crazy carp were slamming baitfish on the surface. The water was thin and clear so I waded out mid river and just stood there as about fifty 10 lb carp swam around me, too cool! Unfortunately on the way back to the bank I slipped on a rock and down I went, fortunately I was only waist deep and had my belt on, unfortunately again though my cell phone, wallet, and keys (with remotes for two cars) went underwater. Went back to my truck shaking my head and threw everything in the back. Got home and tried everything an hour later and it all worked! I'm not usually that lucky :p

Oh man good to hear your phone survived. I panic anytime I have to take my phone out on the river.

.
I had a slow weekend on the water, too. I blame the full moon and changing weather patterns.
A waterproof phone case is essential to wading or kayaking.

+1 on the water proof case
i tie the lanyard to the vest...can't count the times it has saved me
+1 on the waterproof case for the phone. I loop the lanyard around a closed button pocket on my shorts or pants so if I should end up in the water it stays attached to me.
