Got out last nite for a bit. Threw just soft plastics. Managed one walleye about 20", 3 smallies to 19", a couple rock bass and a special guest around 1 am. While pitching my lure into some fast stuff it got absolutely crushed. Dumped about 75% of my 2500 sized reel on the first run. Good striper? Dream walleye? Feisty channel or elusive flathead? Nope...common carp! Prob about 15 lbs or so. Took at least 10 min to land it. Fish certainly put my new-ish setup to the test. Crazy to see one crush a lure like that. POW! Right in the kisser!

I had the same thought process when I hooked a carp at the ladder when the water was as high as the walls. "STIRPER!... oh carp..."
Fortunately I finally caught one today

Nice fish, and great pics!! Love a nice striped up smallie! I know walleye are better eating, but I bet that carp put it to shame fight wise!!
