Friend wanted to fish with me so we booked it to the fish ladder. Dead heron on the rock bank and low water, so plan b was the canal

We're both googans and could hardly get a bite, but I understood how the bushy banks often hold fish more than the deep center. After dinks checking our lures out, I hook something HARD, and right off a bush.

Caught on a weightless zoom fluke. Weedless rigs a must. (Especially with a friend who can't resist casting into trees)

Who needs stocked pike? ;)

I hear there's bass in here... Haven't gotten one over 8 inches yet.

Nice pick! I'm going to have to take a ride over to the canal, looks like a ton of fun.

Hah, fun in tick city. Depending on what section you go to, expect most of the bank to be weeded over. Landing fish is a bit tricky. Long boat net would be good. I had my friend hold onto me as I scooped it with that lil net.

Nice fish, only thing I've caught in the middle are cats, everything else along or under the overhangs.

In the winter I've gotten fish from the middle, not many.

I bet the cats prefer the deep.until night sets

nice slime dart you have there. those weightless flukes or fin-s soft plastics are deadly for slime darts they can not pass them up they just hammer those things. nice work getting it in through all the brush and stuff.
