Made it out for another round last Friday while the temps were in the mid 90s, in May!! Found plenty of willing fish. Caught a handful of Larrys and Smallies in the 16/17/18" range. Beast of the day was a nice 20.5" smallie!!! Also managed to pick off another walleye which is a new PB. Hit a chartreuse spinnerbait in less than 10ft of water!! Slightly longer and clearly fatter than my last.

On a side note, it looks like some jackhole released 2 Koi into the Stear. Fished through a small cove and saw them swimming around. Looked to be between 18-20". One white and black, the other gold and white. Tried to get a pic but they spooked off when I got to close. Hope it's not a breeding pair, lol.......

Congrats on those nice Smallies. I fished the Stear Sunday afternoon , what a nice place. We got 4 Smallies biggest going 18 inches and a bunch of Rock Bass. Def going back this weekend again.

Wow - that smallie is huge!

I guess koi are no worse than carp - just more visible. I was seeing a big koi on the Raritan last summer but was unable to catch it. I wonder if one of those koi-pond places would pay me a lot of money for a huge specimen.
