Fished above the water gap today. Easily had two dozen between 2 people. Mostly roes with some bucks. The roes hit darts and the bucks hit spoons. Color didn't seem to matter.

Andy couldn't agree with you more. Think about what these fish have to go through in order to perpetuate the fishery. From the mouth of the Delaware to north of the Water Gap has to be in excess of 100 miles. And consider the high water flows we've had this spring adding to the difficulty of that journey. Unlike salmon, which feed heavy before entering a river system, these fish don't seem to have any excess fat supply whatsoever yet after traveling that distance they still fight like bone fish when hooked. More amazing is three to four weeks from now most if not all of them will die for the next generation to be secured. It's another amazing fishery in our own back yard which is as symbolic of the arrival of spring as anything else. Combine that with the beauty of the Delaware and it really doesn't get any better!

My guide just got a shad in Callicoon NY some 300 miles from the ocean.
Hate killing them because there are X amount of shad that reproduce to attain X amount of young. Commercial boats shoveled over as by catch ?
